The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the recall of all drug products manufactured by Herbal Doctor Remedies. In addition to being manufactured outside of the controls required by current Good Manufacturing Practices, these products, which are intended to be used as Chinese herbal medicines, are also being marketed for diseases without FDA approval.
Previously, the FDA had issued an advisory to patients to not use drugs manufactured by Herbal Doctor Remedies following an inspection by the Agency which observed unsanitary conditions at the Company’s manufacturing facility.
The drug products were being marketed to treat a variety of conditions including migraines (“Migraine Off”), asthma (“Asma Stopper”), high cholesterol (“Lipidtrol”), and pain (“Pain Stopper”), among others. The products are not identified with a lot number but have a white stick-on label with the text “Herbal Doctor Remedies.”
A full list of recalled products can be found here. The products were sold by a number of websites; consumers may have also purchased them through acupuncturists or other alternative medicine providers.
Consumers in possession of an Herbal Doctor Remedies product should stop using it and return it to Herbal Doctor Remedies 497 Cumbre St, Monterey Park, CA 91754 or the place of purchase.
