Acne:
Indications for: DUAC
Acne vulgaris.
Adult Dosage:
Wash and dry skin. Apply once daily in the evening.
Children Dosage:
Not recommended.
DUAC Contraindications:
History of regional enteritis, ulcerative, pseudomembranous, or antibiotic-associated colitis.
DUAC Warnings/Precautions:
Avoid eyes, mucous membranes, sun, UV light. Discontinue if significant diarrhea occurs. Pregnancy (Cat.C). Nursing mothers: not recommended.
DUAC Classification:
Lincosamide antibiotic + antibacterial/keratolytic.
DUAC Interactions:
Additive irritation with other topical agents (caution). Avoid erythromycin.
Adverse Reactions:
Erythema, peeling, burning, dryness, may bleach fabrics or hair; rare: superinfection, colitis, allergic reactions.
